Help me support kids in need
Hello! I'm excited to share with you the incredible work of Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation. For the past 17 years, they’ve been raising funds to support children's charities through corporate cycling challenges. Through their efforts, they’ve already helped over 60 children's charities and raised an impressive $40 million to support kids in need.
Over just 7 days, I'll pedal 1,000 kilometres as part of the 2024 Melbourne Chain Reaction Challenge. Our mission is to raise funds for two incredible children’s charities – the Gait Lab at Monash Children’s Hospital and Starlight Children’s Foundation. My personal fundraising goal is $6000.
The Gait Lab at Monash Children’s Hospital is a cutting-edge facility, striving to enhance the mobility and independence of infants, children, and adolescents facing neurological, muscular, developmental or orthopedic challenges hindering lower limb function. Funding is needed to facilitate an upgrade of equipment to provide the best possible diagnosis and treatment for their patients and facilitate more appointments and shorter wait times for children and their families.
Starlight Children's Foundation focuses on the emotional well-being of seriously ill kids. The funds raised will enhance health and happiness through the Starlight Express Room and Captain Starlight Programs, countering the disruptions of illness on their lives.
By supporting me in this challenge, you'll be helping us make a real difference in the lives of these children. Please donate to my fundraising page above.
Many thanks,
Rob Roseby

The last week
Well that's the training (almost) done! I meet the group once more at 0600 in Albert Park tomorrow, but instead of riding back with them from Black Rock I will head in to work to prepare for my CF clinic. Our last big training ride was titled "more cows than cars", where coach Brenton Jones took us on the roads in West Gippsland where he spent his teen years training, eventually to become a pro cyclist. He was so enthusiastic about showing us his favorite hills and roads, and we were enthusiastic students.![](https://d313lk2a5adzvj.cloudfront.net/52dfo1dbtfew.jpg)
2 weeks to go
I leave Melbourne in 2 weeks' time so it feels very real now. We've got the final course maps, and find a total of 1050km for the week, with more than 2000m of climbing each day! Wow!![](https://d313lk2a5adzvj.cloudfront.net/52dfo1dbtfew.jpg)
