Help me support kids in need
Chain Reaction is a bike challenge that raises money for sick children by challenging participants to ride a 1,000 plus kilometre course in 7 days.
2020 was a tough year for everyone, and charities really felt the impact as fundraising efforts dried up. My 2020 fundraising challenge, Alcatraz for Alz, a triathlon with a swim from Alcatraz to San Francisco and then a cycle and run around the hills of San Fran in support of dementia research, was postponed (to 2022 hopefully).
To get back into sport and fundraising since arriving in Sydney late last year I am preparing for the 2021 Chain Reaction Sydney challenge. A 7-day bike ride covering 1,000 plus kilometres and over 10,000 metres of climbing.
I am raising funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Importantly, I and the other participants are covering all the costs of participation so every cent raised will go directly to the charity.
Starlight aims to brighten the lives of seriously ill children through its Captain Starlight and Starlight Express Rooms at hospitals. The charity helps sick children to just be kids; to feel happier, more in control and in a better place to deal with the pain and stress of hospital and treatment. A vital service, I hope you will consider supporting.
