Inside the Peloton Day 5

30 Mar 2022
We woke up to a crisp morning in Tarraleah. The Tasmania Hydro community that has now been converted into Holiday and Conference Facilities.

Everyone was in awe of the beautiful scenery at the back of the accommodation that shows the vast forest and hills surrounding the 1920 Art Deco timepiece.

We headed off into some amazing rainforest with huge Tree Ferns most of us had never seen before.

The riding was mostly undulating until we hit one of the best descents many of us had experienced. Here one rider achieved over 90 km/h. Others had hands on brakes.

All morning was peppered with small towns with great historical pubs and houses. We split off into teams to head to lunch.

We stopped for lunch beside the vast Derwent river in a town called New Norfolk about 35 kms out of Hobart.

Lunch was very much Old School Fare topped of by the favourite Apple Crumble.

After lunch we headed off for the Big Smoke of Hobart. Hampered by some strong headwinds we inched along and finally hit the main freeway into town.

Bit by bit we dealt with the traffic and hit our accommodation for the night.

We all had a great day on the bikes.
