1000km. 7 Days. One Mission: To Support Kids In Need
In just seven days, I'm about to push my body further than it's ever gone - 1000 kilometres, one pedal at a time. It's going to hurt. My legs will scream, my mind will beg me to stop, and there will be moments out there, alone with the road, when quitting will feel like the only option.
But I won't stop. Because right now, in Kenya and Tanzania, there are kids who won't set foot in a classroom this year - not because they don't want to learn, but because the opportunity simply isn't there yet. And right here at home, in NSW and ACT, there are families doing it tough, doing everything they can just to keep their kids safe, fed, and steady.
They all deserve better. Every single one of them.
That's where So They Can and BaptistCare HopeStreet come in. So They Can gives children in Kenya and Tanzania access to education - the one thing that can break the cycle of poverty and open up a future. BaptistCare HopeStreet stands beside families across NSW and ACT when things are hardest, offering the practical support that helps them feel safe, supported, and hopeful again.
So I'm turning my exhaustion into their opportunity. Every kilometre I cover is a kilometre closer to a child stepping into a classroom for the first time, and a family here at home getting the support they need to get back on their feet.
This isn't about me proving something. It's about showing up for kids and families who are doing the hardest thing imaginable - and making sure they don't have to do it alone.
Here's where you come in.
I can't cover this distance for them by myself I need you in my corner. Every dollar you give helps fund vital education programs in Kenya and Tanzania through So They Can, and practical support for struggling kids and families in NSW and ACT through BaptistCare HopeStreet.
1000km is a long way to go by myself. Will you help carry me there?
My Updates
Chain Reaction 2027
In May 2027, I’ll be pushing my limits to cycle 1,000km and climb over 15,000 vertical metres in just 7 days across Adelaide as a participant in the Chain Reaction Challenge.
That’s the equivalent of riding from Sydney to Noosa while scaling the height of Mount Everest from Base Camp to the Summit four and a half times.
But this challenge isn’t about me, it’s about giving kids the chance to live healthier, happier lives.
I’m riding to raise vital funds for Chain Reaction’s charity partners:
· Hope Street, supporting vulnerable young people and families in crisis.
· So They Can, empowering children in East Africa through education and community development
Together, these charities embody the spirit of Chain Reaction: riding with purpose.
Why Your Support Matters
Every dollar raised goes to Chain Reaction and its partners, funding programs that:
· Provide safe housing and essential services for children in need.
· Deliver education and opportunities that break the cycle of poverty.
· Create brighter futures for thousands of kids who deserve a chance.
How You Can Help
Your donation isn’t just sponsorship, it’s an investment in a child’s future. By supporting this challenge, you’re not only backing my ride, you’re helping transform lives.
Donate today and be part of the journey. Together, we can turn every kilometre into hope.
Personal donations are fantastic, Corporate donations are even more amazing.
