2021 Brisbane Challenge

Thank you for empowering young people in need

I completed my first Chain Reaction ride in 2019 and am grateful to be riding again in 2021 after a year off due to COVID.

I love family and Danielle and I are privileged to have three children of our own aged 17 through 21. We enjoy hanging at the beach with our Labradors, skiing and travelling. Later this year we’ll complete a quirky project – a ’57 Volkswagen Kombi van – and we’re looking forward to hitting the road.

It is an honour for TRACTION to be selected as a charity partner alongside the AEIOU Foundation for the 2021 Brisbane ride. The support of Chain Reaction provides the certainty to execute our growth plans and pursue opportunities. As a result, TRACTION will reach hundreds more young people over the next few years.

I started TRACTION in 2015 and have loved developing the program alongside a fantastic team as a volunteer ever since. We’ve helped over 1,340 vulnerable young people realise amazing results and built an innovative, inclusive culture and significant capability as an organisation.

Chain Reaction will provide capital infrastructure that delivers a tangible and lasting difference. Funds raised will help tool up workshops, purchase vehicles, and expand into communities that desperately need support, including the Moreton Bay, Logan and Brisbane Southside regions. It’s critical we have a presence supporting at risk youth in these communities across Southeast Queensland.

Donations to Chain Reaction make a significant difference for children in need and on behalf of the Chain Reaction community and the young people it supports – thank you!

Stay safe, Sandy. We will be cheering you on from 'vegas. When you get tired and sore just keep thinking about all those kids you will be helping... some of whom would love to do what you are doing with just a little opportunity.
