100 days to go!!
What a year we are having. In and out of lockdown, restrictions, homeschooling and lots of uncertainty has had its challenges so I am thrilled to be participating in the 2021 Chain Reaction Challenge as part of the Korda Mentha team.Today marks 100 days to go and this means I need to get on my bike. An integral part of the Challenge is the training prior to the event so I'll be riding indoor and outside (hopefully not in the wet, but highly likely!). Our Melbourne based Korda Mentha team will start a 10 week training program in September trained by former professional Dave McKenzie.
My personal fundraising goal is $5,000 and as a whole we are looking to raise over $400,000. These funds will go to support two wonderful charities, Traction and White Ribbon Australia.
Traction's mission is to empower young people to build their own positive futures. They do this by providing young people with tools to manage life's challenges - helping them engage with learning, build resilience and skills for work and life.
White Ribbon Australia has developed the Breaking the Silence program which is a professional learning initiative for educators and school staff members. The program provides knowledge, tools and strategies to develop and implement a whole-of-school plan to foster respectful relationships, gender equality and prevent violence, harassment and abuse.

Zwift sessions
Five sessions on Zwift last week!! I'm a newbie to the platform but thankfully my Korda Mentha teammates (and another cycling buddy) are teaching me the ins and outs. I'm thoroughly enjoying our 2 hour+ Sunday sessions plus joining other bunches, friends and doing the occasional effort session. I received a number of messages from impressed (or concerned) friends this past week wondering whether I was riding at 1am, 4am etc. I had a little glitch with Strava but all has been rectified. My fundraising efforts continue and any donation you could make to support me in this event would be greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference to our two charity partners - Traction and White Ribbon Australia - as they navigate fundraising through the pandamic.
