Update on Family Accommodation Unit – upgrade made possible through funds raised from the 2014 Chain Reaction Challenge Victoria.
Chain Reaction Challenge Victoria funded the Family Accommodation renovations that took place in 2014-2015 and since then, the homes away from home have become an invaluable service for the families Very Special Kids support. While they have long provided the on-site accommodation, the facilities were in need of renovation and only one family could stay at any given time in comfort and privacy.
The improvements made possible through Chain Reaction donations have enabled more families to be close to their child during a stay at the Very Special Kids Hospice or to access medical appointments in greater Melbourne. The accommodation is almost always in use and sometimes even has a wait list because it is so popular!
