Help me support kids in need
The last 12 months have been a difficult time in just about everybody's life. Dealing with COVID19, the health aspects, the lockdowns and economic pain. This has been particularly so for kids in need, their families and the charities that support them. Now is the time for those that can to support those that need help and this is why I am riding again in the Chain Reaction Cycling Challenge.
I am a Partner in EY's Financial Services practice. I am enjoying a long, successful and satisfying career. I have three wonderful children, Harrison (21), Juliette (20) and Annelise (17). We have had our challenges in life. Juliette was diagnosed with leukaemia when she was three years old. It was a difficult time, with the chemotherapy and a few extra unscheduled hospital stays. We were fortunate to have wonderful doctors and nurses and Juliette went into remission and today is a happy healthy 20 year old. During her many hospital stays we benefited from the wonderful work of the Starlight Foundation and numerous Captain Starlight visits. The experience has given me a passion to give back to make sure kids and their families have as much support as we can give them through difficult times.
Doing the Chain Reaction Cycling Challenge and supporting our wonderful and deserving charities is extremely important to me. One of the great things about being involved with the Chain Reaction Cycling Foundation is the connection with the supported charities. Actually seeing the work that they do and the difference our donations make to the kids and their families really brings home just how important this support is. I also hope my example helps my children understand the importance of supporting others that are less fortunate and how satisfying it can be to make a difference to other people's lives.
Thank you for your support and any donation that you can spare to help kids in need would be greatly appreciated. I hope you have a safe and healthy 2021.
