Help me support kids in need
For the third year in a row, I am taking the Chain Reaction Challenge to raise funds for sick children in need.
For the past 17 years, the Chain Reaction Foundation has been raising funds to support children's charities through corporate cycling challenges. Through their efforts, they’ve already helped over 60 children's charities and raised an impressive $40 million to support kids in need.
It a charity close to our hearts - I've been involved the last 3 years. Isabel and Maddy our daughters had a pretty tough little start in life - born premature at 1.1kg a pop.... and the staff in the NICU ward saved their lives... and made ours!
To give back - I'm embarking on an extraordinary cycling feat... and I'm fatter and more unfit than ever - so it'll hurt more! Over just 7 days, I'll pedal an impressive 1,000 kilometres over plenty of hills outside of the Gold Coast. Our mission is to raise funds for two incredible children’s charities – Monash Children’s Hospital and Starlight Children’s Foundation. I've set my personal fundraising goal at $6,000 - which would take my total fundraising to over $30,000.
Starlight Children's Foundation focuses on the emotional well-being of seriously ill kids. The funds raised will enhance health and happiness through the Starlight Express Room and Captain Starlight Programs, countering the disruptions of illness on their lives.
The Gait Lab at Monash Children’s Hospital is a cutting-edge facility, striving to enhance the mobility and independence of infants, children, and adolescents facing developmental, neurological, or orthopedic challenges hindering lower limb function. While their 2D technology is adequate, funding is needed to facilitate the upgrade of equipment and increase their staffing to provide the best possible diagnosis and treatment for their patients and facilitate more appointments and shorter wait times for children and their families.
By supporting me in this challenge, you'll be helping us make a real difference in the lives of these children.
Most of you know our story with Maddy and Issy... so I really want to keep giving back.
Much love
Ray
