Although I work in IT and I love cycling, my main driver for being involved in Chain Reaction is to help spread the word about the practical results that the Challenge helps to deliver for charity partners like VSK and Starlight.
Families with kids that have daunting health challenges can sink without the difference that these guys make day-to-day.
Please pitch in to help!
Day 6 - 3 more challenges remainHey, everyone!
Am I ready for 2021 yet? No!
For the second year in a row, I am challenging myself to cycle over 1000 kilometres on a Tour of Victoria in March as part of the 2021 Melbourne Challenge.
This event raises much needed funds for kids in need, and this year we will support two great charities, Very Special Kids and Starlight Children's Foundation.
I am especially enthusiastic about VSK. Very Special Kids is the only dedicated children's hospice in Victoria and offers respite and end of life care for terminally ill children. You can learn more about Very Special Kids at https://www.vsk.org.au/a-very-special-project/ - I really want to see them operating a rebuilt hospice. I reckon that if you have kids (or grandkids), you can see how needed that VSK's services are for kids and families in need.
Starlight Children's Foundation helps brighten the lives of sick kids in hospital through their Starlight Express Rooms and Captain Starlight Programs. You can get a look inside the Starlight Express Room HERE
Both charities do outstanding work to improve the lives and wellbeing of kids in need and their families and the event hopes to raise in excess of $1 million to support both causes.
I promise to ride fast to represent all of my donors in the best light, and smile all of the way!Share
