Join me on the Chain Reaction Challenge, riding from Coffs Harbour to Sydney over 7 days to raise funds for BaptistCare HopeStreet.

I am an Executive Assistant with BaptistCare NSW & ACT and also a wife and mother of two.  With a passion for the outdoors, cycling and running, this Challenge is a great way to make a difference, but I need your help.

HopeStreet provides support to women and children living in fear and violence, or who are rebuilding their lives after escaping domestic and family violence.  HopeStreet provides services such as supported housing, counselling and children’s programs.

I believe that every woman and child deserves to live in a family that is free from violence and fear and to have safe and loving relationships. Wouldn’t you agree? Sadly across Australia, some women and children are living in incredibly violent situations – they’re experiencing physical, emotional, verbal, financial, social and religious violence.

I’m riding because BaptistCare HopeStreet is committed to providing support and assistance to women and children, including housing and specialised program for children, to help them escape the violence, have choice and rebuild their lives.

Please support me through the Challenge by donating to this worthwhile cause, that changes lives.

If you or someone you know is experiencing violence, there is help available now: call 1800 RESPECT on 1800 737 732 for confidential advice or support, 24/7. In an emergency, call the police on 000.

My Updates

Day 3 - Coffs Harbour / Crescent Head / Port Macquarie

A quick roll along the Highway on a beautiful crisp morning with a few drink stops along the way. Some rolling hills & morning tea by the Nambucca River. 120km done by the lunch stop in Gladstone & legs/body very tired. Only another 20km to go after lunch I am told. The heart was willing but  ended up in the sag wagon after  another 13km. The ride ended at Crescent Heads for photos then everyone on the bus to Port Macquarie for massages, dinner, recovery, the weather report & presentations by the charity partners. Bring on Day 4!

Day 2 - Coffs/Urunga/Dorigo Mountain/Coffs

Anzac Day dawn service by the beach. Today was a really tough ride up Dorigo Mountain. In all 154km with about 2,249m of climbing & some huge pot holes in a few roads  along the way after the floods. But also some great road surfaces too. Highlights were the country scenery & waterfalls down the  mountain along the road. Muscles need a rest but will back-up to start again tomorrow for more adventures. Thanks for your support!!

Day 1 - Coffs Harbour Loop

A 12pm start for the first day of the Chain Reaction ride today following lunch. A total of 67km with 1290 metres elevation gain. A stop at the  spectacular Forest Sky Pier at Sealy Lookout was great after the long & very steep climb. The rest of the ride was more forgiving & the afternoon tea break was greatly appreciated. Thanks to the wonderful volunteers that coordinate the logistics, look after our bikes, keep us safe on the road & even look after our laundry. Bring on Day 2 which will a biggie!!!

Day 0

It”s the day before the big ride starts! Thanks for supporting HopeStreet & me!  It”s been an amazing journey just making the start line including a crash, recovery, a lot of self doubt and some seriously hard training. Met a fabulous bunch of riders...a little crazy maybe...but hey, it’s always fun. Just stopped at Port Macquarie & onto Coffs Harbour shortly to organise the bike gear, charge lights, computers & final checks, ready for a 12pm start. Let’s do this.....

Thank You To My Donors
