Recognising the incredible work performed by the charity partners is all the motivation one needs to spend a week suffering along the seemingly endless road to cover over 1000km in 7 days. This will be my fourth time upon the week-long Chain Reaction ride to help support kids in need.

This year the event contains a somewhat sadistic twist in that the route will be in tropical humidity and heat – far from the natural comfort zone of the wet, windy & cold climes of my home country, the UK.

This year Chain Reaction will support Starlight Children’s Foundation and the Monash Children’s Hospital. Starlight seeks to provide happiness and fun to the lives of sick kids who may be experiencing pain, fear and stress associated with serious illness. Starlight works with kids of all ages, regardless of disability, injury or illness. To learn more about Starlight, click here.

Monash Children’s Hospital, is one of the busiest paediatric healthcare services in Australia, caring for over 100,000 children annually. Its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Nursery is the busiest of its kind, providing care to over 2,000 of Victoria’s most vulnerable patients every year.
