Week 1 Day 3 - Wynnum and back via Gateway Bridge
A windy ride to Wynnum then back via Gateway Bridge. For some of the newer riders this was a first time riding in a group. Looking out for each other we were soon moving along in a neat peloton. Those taking their turn at the front soon appreciated how good it was not to be there facing into the relentless wind.
A couple of roadside stops for puncture repairs then off again to call into the mega Bunnings at Newmarket to visit the Hutchies Team Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser. A hot snag wrapped in bread with sauce and onion....yummo for those who partook. For anyone wanting something else, Homemade (world renowned) Fudge was available for afters.
Finishing back at Planet Cycles a few of us had a coffee and some more traditional style breakfast (no offence sausage eaters) and some chat about the ride we had just finished.
All up a 56.91km and another fun, interesting ride, getting to know new riders and catching up with last year's riders. We are well and truly back in the saddle for this year's CRW300!
Week 1 Day 2 - CRW300 2019 Training
A chilly start to day 2 of Chain Reaction Training. Leaving home at 450am to meet under the Go Between for a 505am briefing then moving out at 510am.
Cycled to University of QLD carpark, formed into small teams and then rolled out at 530am from there.
Clockwise St Lucia Loops taking in the hilly bits; around once, to go twice, then three times.
Great pace-line efforts had us all working hard and well together.
Thanks Briony, Kat and Michelle!

Help me support kids in need
I am riding 300 kilometres in 3 days from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast this October to raise funds for kids in need.
Funds raised from this event will support major charity partner the AEIOU Foundation for children with Autism, which has been providing life changing early intervention since 2005. AEIOU will direct funds allocated from the event to a refurbisment and fit out of its Toowoomba centre, enabling more children in the region access to a safe, secure and modern facility for therapy and care, including a new classroom and an upgraded playground and sensory garden.
In addition, minor beneficiary Mater Foundation will receive funds to go towards purchasing an in-hospital shuttle which safely and easily transports critically ill babies to theatre, considerably reducing the risk of serious clinical problems.
Please support my efforts on the bike with a donation and be part of changing the lives of kids in need!
