David is Development Manager at QIC in the Global Real Estate division managing various property development projects in the QIC property portfolio. David has over 30 years experience in commercial, retail, industrial, residential, and hotel development.
Whilst an avid fitness enthusiast and having now been riding regularly for over 12 years, David developed an aversion for any ride over 3 hours. Fortunately this hoodoo has been broken with many very long rides in the 2015 Chain Reaction Cairns Challenge and in training this year for the 2018 New Zealand Chain Reaction Challenge in March.
The cause for the Chain Reaction Challenge is close to David's heart having experienced the devastating impact of cancer with his own son Tom at the age of 12. Tom is now 24, fully recovered and working as a Geologist. Any help this challenge can lend to support the needs of sick children is the motivation driving David's commitment to the challenge.
Encouraged again by his wife Shelly and four children to take on this year's ride in mountainous New Zealand terrain, he is looking forward to many long grueling hours in the saddle and raising much needed money for two incredible children charities, the AEIOU Foundation and Ronald McDonald House.
