Help me to raise money for two incredible charities, that provide critical support to change the lives of women and children in difficult circumstances.
THE BIKE RIDE
I’m not really a proper cyclist, have had two back operations in as many years, but I am aiming to get fit enough to complete the Chain Reaction Challenge 2023 ride starting on 26 February.
This ride covers 1000km+ distance and 12,000m+ vertical climbing in 7 days on the bike, starting in Christchurch and finishing in Queenstown. On the way we have to get up some extremely steep climbs, including Arthurs Pass, Cardrona and Coronet Peak. It’s a big endeavour, and I’m training hard to get myself ready.
THE PURPOSE – RAISING MONEY FOR KIDS
If you decide to support me you are donating to the Chain Reaction Foundation, which has raised over $37,000,000 since foundation, mainly for children’s charities.
The ride I’m joining is aiming to add over $1,000,000 to this tally, which will go to two charities, HopeStreet and So They Can. If you read the below I think you’ll understand why these two charities are so important.
Hopestreet supports communities to overcome challenges such as relationship breakdown, domestic violence, long-term unemployment, homelessness, and mental health or addiction issues. They offer safe spaces and stable accommodation for women that have been subject to abuse or live on the street, supporting them to overcome financial hardship, a history of trauma, domestic violence or alcohol or drug use.
So They Can is a not for profit organisation committed to empowering children living in poverty through education. This is achieved through improved learning conditions, teacher training and development, child well being, women’s empowerment, community engagement and investment in health.
Great charities, doing amazing work. I would be grateful if you could help me make a difference and donate to my fundraising below.
Thanks
Ben
