Help me support vulnerable kids in need
I am the head of stakeholder engagement at BaptistCare. The most enjoyable part of my role is working with staff across our network linking internal business units to collaborate and excel with one another, breaking down silos internally as well connecting and working with external organisations. It's a privilege being a voice to advocate and represent marginalised individuals and communities.
I am a triathlete and spend a lot of time on my TT bike as well as weekly bunch rides on my road bike. My work takes me to regional areas working with our staff, during which my gravel bike comes along to help explore the local area during my downtime.
I am married to Cindy, we have two daughters Isabelle (14) and Justine (11). Being “outdaughtered” I have a passion to help my daughters become as resilient as they can dealing with our own flaws, place high standards on ourselves and strive to help the vulnerable. On this ride I would like to inspire my children and our staff through 1000km of suffering to raise money for the needy. BaptistCare have been providing support to the needy for over 76 years. Through our HopeStreet ministry, we help women and children experiencing domestic violence. Children are often the most vulnerable from our interactions with families suffering from domestic violence. The much needed funds will allow them to have a safe home-like space to relax and connect with others. Your valuable contribution will go towards practical support onsite such as showers, laundry facilities, food support as well as case management and counselling services.
