Chain Reaction Principles

All participants must agree to the following principles of the Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation:

Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation has developed its events whereby business leaders come together to recognise their responsibility to the greater community and believe that individuals working together make a real difference in the lives of sick children and the charities that support them.

We have a common desire to incorporate an individual’s passion for cycling into a charity challenge.

We participate in the spirit of camaraderie, teamwork and entertainment whilst completing a physical and sometimes mental challenge.

To achieve these principles and the objectives of Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation, each participant will act as a fundraising ambassador for the Foundations and agrees:

  • To raise a minimum of A$6,000, to be donated to our chosen charities without compromising the ethos of the ride or of the beneficiary charities.
  • To leverage their standing in the business community to help meet the fundraising objectives.
  • To contribute where possible to your team’s and Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation’s corporate sponsorship objectives.
  • To promote and use the Chain Reaction and Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation brands and marks responsibly and within the guidelines approved by Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation.
  • To behave in an exemplary manner while representing Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation and our supported charities. As indirect Ambassadors for these bodies, any form of discrimination, harassment, bullying, excessive use of alcohol or any form of illegal drug use will not be tolerated or condoned by you.
  • That it is NOT mandatory for each rider to complete the entire distance. Each rider should ride within his/her own ability. The Chain Reaction Challenge event will be completed as a group. It is NOT a race.
  • The Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation is and should remain apolitical and secular.

I acknowledge and agree that I will be participating in the Event voluntarily and at my own risk. I agree that my participation in the Event and any activity associated with it, including training activities, involves me riding on public roads used by other traffic and I am aware of the inherent risks in that activity and in riding bicycles in general.

I further acknowledge and agree that participating in the Event may result in a real risk of serious personal injury or even death from various causes including but not limited to over-exertion, dehydration, and accidents with other participants, pedestrians, animals, vehicles or other road users. These risks cannot be eliminated completely, despite the care and precautions taken by Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation in relation to the Event.
