2 weeks on a boat over school holidays = Forced taper! Feel like I have forgotten everything (and/or eaten everything?) Nice to have our final group hit out over the trusty Brisbane Riverloop this morning. Making a final dash to my fundraising finish line. 2 more sleeps ...
Mt Mee Madness
120km+ up, up, up! Great group ride from the Gabba to the top of Mt Mee and back ... and for some of us (me) a little further. (Surely there is a sign? Lookout? Coffee shop at the top? How to know where to turn around?) Feeling confident in my ability to do the miles but anxious about my recent forced taper over school hols. Last group ride on Weds morning :)
Back to back to back!
Starting to put some km's together and pretty happy to have survived three back to back sesssions over the weekend - its been a while. Nice too to be doing some longer scenic rides that mean we are still around after the sun comes up #viewsofbrisbane #wellingtonpoint
Frostbite free fashion.
Two weeks in and I have been cleared of my frost bite suspicions. Enjoying the company of my cohort but not so much the early starts! Thermals, tights, arm warmers and long socks complete my 4.15am fashion show!
Help me help others!
After 3 years out of the saddle I am peddling 360km+ out of my comfort zone from Brisbane to the Sunny Coast - and back - to raise funds for kids in need.
Early winter mornings are not my friend - yet. Neither are hills! But I'm committed to the cause and hope you too will show your support by throwing some bucks my way.
Funds raised will go to the AEIOU Foundation for Children with Autism. In addition we have committed to assisting 16 young children attending the Sippy Downs Centre on the Sunshine Coast where there is a $10,000 funding gap per child. This centre provides valuable early intervention programs for kids with autism enabling them to enter mainstream schools and actively participate in their communities.
Thank you for helping me change the lives of kids in need!
