2019 NSW Ride

Help me support kids in need

Josh has been riding with Chain Reaction NSW for several years and is returning for his third Chain Reaction Challenge, having completed a gruelling 1,000km of riding through Far North Queensland in 2016 and South Australia in 2018.

Josh is proud to support the Chain Reaction Foundation and raise funds for congenital heart disease research at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and the Starlight Children's Foundation. With three young kids, he understands the fragile nature of children’s health. During the 20 week scan for his youngest daughter, Tahlia, a congenital abnormality was identified. Luckily she has been healthy since birth but there are many families who are less fortunate.

Chain Reaction continues making a meaningful difference to these families through its charity partners. In 2018, Professor Sally Dunwoodie from Victor Chang was nominated for Australian of the Year for breakthroughs which are expected to prevent miscarriages and multiple types of birth defects, including congenital heart disease which is the most common form of birth defect, affecting 1 in 100 babies.

For Josh, participating in Chain Reaction has been both a rewarding and transformational experience. He is looking forward to this year’s ride from Melbourne to Sydney through some the best climbs in the Victorian Alps and Snowy Mountains whilst renewing old friendships, developing new friendships and helping contribute to an extremely worthy cause.
