Paul Abbey
Paul is a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the International Tax and Transaction Services group. PwC has previously sponsored Chain Reaction and this year has again got its own team. Paul is a former runner who was let down by his knees. After a couple of years, Paul has discovered cycling. His frustration is that cyclists he could have easily out run, are much better rider than he is.
Michael Bona
Michael is a Director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, specialising in M&A and International Tax. Michael advises banks & multinational corporates on tax aspects of their business. Michael is looking forward to being involved in the Chain Reaction ride for 2010.
Daryl Browning
Daryl is CEO of Industry Superannuation Property Trust which invests in property on behalf of 26 of the largest industry funds including, Australian Super, Cbus, Hesta and HostPlus. Daryl is looking forward to his third Chain Reaction Ride and riding with co-sponsors from the ISPT business network.
Paul Burns
Paul is the Managing Director of Knight Frank Victoria and a member of the Knight Frank Australia National Board. Besides the personal satisfaction of completing a physically challenging ride like Chain Reaction, the knowledge that children benefit from the funds raised by the event, make the effort required worthwhile many times over.
John Byrne
John has an extensive background in property, debt/equity and JV structuring. New to cycling in recent years he is delighted to be a part of the Chain Reaction experience again. It is an opportunity to help very worthwhile children’s charities while at the same time being demanding and rewarding at many levels – personally, physically and professionally. Michael Byrom
Michael is the Managing Partner of Holding Redlich Lawyers, Brisbane. Michael is a keen supporter of Chain Reaction and this will be the second time he has taken part in this worthy event. Michael and Holding Redlich will work towards raising a sizeable donation so the fantastic work the Starlight Foundation and the Cerebral Palsy Centre can not only continue but thrive.
Dale Cliff
Dale is a partner in the Brisbane legal practice ClarkeKann. For 23 years he has practiced predominantly in the area of insolvency including lecturing in the Masters courses of Brisbane Universities. Dale is a keen triathlete, Duathlete & marathon runner. Having recently recovered from a Brain Tumor Dale's focus now is a more balanced life with a strong desire to help those who are not as lucky.
Simon Coffin
Simon is owner of the award winning Total Rush bicycle retail and workshop in Melbourne. Simon has been and remains involved in all areas of cycling including retail sales, repairs, coaching, competing and as the CEO of the Rush Racing Specialized cycling team. Simon is one of the best "bike fit" experts, something that requires him to visit the US often to stay up to date with this vital skill.
Jeremy Cooper
Jeremy is a partner in Deloitte’s Melbourne-based Corporate Finance Advisory practice where he advises mid-market clients across a full range of corporate transactions. Jeremy lives in South Yarra with his wife Jemma and Max, Ned & Ella.
John Crane
John is the Managing Director of Cranecorp Pty Ltd, a leading market specialist in property development and investment. Based and founded in Melbourne this private company has created and invested in an impressive yet diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and retail property nationally.
Luch Crema
Luch Crema is the Managing Director of a number of private family companies involved in the construction industry. He took up cycling over ten years ago to keep fit for his real passion of alpine skiing. This will be his third Chain Reaction ride and possibly the most challenging. He is married to Monica and has three children all who think he is crazy doing the ride again.
Nick Farley
Nicholas Farley is the Head of Office Leasing at Savills Victoria. Savills is a global, publicly listed property solutions company headquartered in the United Kingdom. Nicholas started riding bikes on the family dairy farm in Echuca, and went on to being a bicycle courier during university. He now regularly competes in road races and criteriums and is a member of the St. Kilda Cycling Club.
Peter Galvin
This will be Peter’s 3rd Chain Reaction ride. Peter is delighted to again join a group of committed individuals, riders, organizers, volunteers and Executives to help raise funds for sick children. Peter is the Group Managing Director of Thinc and brings to clients a powerful combination of both business creation and project management expertise across Australasia, Middle East, North Africa and the UK.
Tod Gillespie
Tod Gillespie is a director of national property valuation and advisory firm, Herron Todd White, and is also on the Board of Herron Todd White Australia. Tod specializes in Gold Coast luxury residential property, home unit developments and management rights, and is also a member of the Bond University Advisory Committee to the Department of Sustainable Development.
Dean Gosper
Dean has a background in corporate advisory and food manufacturing. In more recent times he has rediscovered the liberating qualities of road cycling. By virtue of the involvement of a number of good friends, the Chain Reaction ride and its associated causes has been a genuine fascination. The invitation to join such a committed crew in 2009 is a real honour.
Brian Harris
Brian is the Chief Credit Officer for NSW/ACT with Westpac and is based in Sydney. Brian has participated in a number of charity events and considers the Chain Reaction Ride as the most challenging of these. However notwithstanding the challenge involved, Brian regards the reward of being able to assist the selected charities as well worth the effort.
Ben Hegerty
Ben is one of the few to have held an AIS scholarship for rowing. He would have made the 2004 Olympic games as a rower, but the boat was already full and he was too big to be a Cox. Undeterred he turned his talents to cycling and conquered Beach Rd. These days Ben holds down a real job at Jones Lang LaSalle.
David Hinde
David is the CEO of Orchard Funds Management, the inaugural major corporate supporter of Chain Reaction. As a keen cyclist he rates the event as a huge challenge that requires loads of physical preparation, family support and encouragement (thanks Chelsea, Matthew and Annabelle for putting up with me) and a dedication to fund raising for the important children’s charities supported each year.
Robert Hinton
Rob is a partner of the national legal firm Gadens Lawyers and practices in the Banking & Finance litigation and Insolvency areas. This stressful area of legal practice requires some recreational outlet, and after a hip operation made him unavailable for the 1st Chain Reaction ride, he faced the challenge of and completed the 2008 ride.
Andrew Hirst
Andrew is a senior manager of Investec's Property Investment Banking team in Melbourne, which provides finance solutions to its private and corporate clients in developing or investing in property. Andrew has caught the riding bug thanks to Chain Reaction (initially the one day challenge at Mt Buller and then Tasmania) and is looking forward to participating again.
Jamie Jowett
As the Development Manager at Melbourne Airport, Jamie looks after the airports large industrial estate. Jamie established the first Chain Reaction ride with Berrick in 2007. After taking a year off, Jamie is keen to get back into the physical challenge of this years ride.
Alex King
Alex is a partner at Arnold Bloch Leibler in Melbourne, practising in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He did the Chain Reaction ride in Tasmania last year. As his 11 year old would say, "It was awesome!!!". Alex had to be back for Chain Reaction 2010, and he is very pleased, and proud, that Arnold Bloch Leibler, with Orchard, has sponsored a team in this year's Chain Reaction ride.
Michael Knoff
Michael is a Transactional Relationship Manager with Westpac. As a qualified Solicitor Michael works with the professional services industry to align their banking needs with Westpac's market leading product set. This will be Michael's 3rd Chain Reaction and again allows him to use his passion to help raise funds for children who have not been so lucky in life.
Aaron Lee
Aaron is the Director / Creative Director of Caramel Creative - a boutique graphic design agency he founded in 2004. Aaron has a strong connection with the cycling community including the Amy Gillett Foundation, Jayco Herald Sun Tour, UCI Track World Cup and was a founding member of the St Kilda Cycling Club in Melbourne.
Chris Leeds
Chris has recently joined leading equipment valuation and auctioneering business,the Dominion Group, as a Director having previously worked in the banking and insolvency sectors. Chris is looking forward to the challenge of riding through Tasmania and supporting two fantastic children’s charities.
Chris Lock
Chris is an Executive Officer with the Rabinov Property Trust, an ASX listed Real Estate Investment Trust. Rabinov are a diversified property investment vehicle which has an established portfolio of office, retail and industrial properties located throughout Australia. This is the first year Rabinov have supported the Chain Reaction and Chris is thrilled and privileged to be a part of the group a
Ben Mahoney
Ben is a banking & finance partner in the Melbourne office of Arnold Bloch Leibler. Ben was a participant in the first and second years of Chain Reaction. After missing last year's ride due to the arrival of his first baby (Jack) Ben looks forward to rejoining the challenge this year with renewed enthusiasm for this important children's charity fundraiser.
Steve McArthur
Stephen is the Physiotherapist for the Chain Reaction team of riders. Stephen runs a successful private practice in the Coonawarra region of South Australia. He has extensive sports physiotherapy experience. A keen cyclist and surfer, Stephen will donate his professional expertise as physiotherapist while also raising money for the 2009 Chain Reaction ride.
David McCormack
David is the Head Of Credit - Property for National Australia Bank based in Melbourne. David runs a team responsible for all credit & construction risk issues for thr nab's Australian & Asia footprint. A keen mountainbiker & windsurfer, with a rowing background, David is looking forward to pushing himself through the challenges of this years ride.
Scott McVilly
Scott is Managing Director of Buildcorp Commercial, a commercial building operation he jointly founded in 1995. He feels privileged to be involved in his third Chain Reaction Challenge and is inspired by the work of the ‘Starlight’ and ‘Alannah & Madeleine’ Foundation.
Renee Nutbean
Renee has a background in retail property investment and development and is a Senior Investment Manager with ISPT Super Property. After many years of riding and competing on horses, Renee transitioned to two wheels as a means of commuting to work. Participating in the 2010 Chain Reaction ride presents an incredible challenge and support for Starlight & the Allanah & Madeleine Fundation.
Michael O'Shaughnessy
Michael is the elder “statesman” of this year’s group but what he lacks in youth he more than compensates by his enthusiasm and determination not to be left behind by his youthful companions. Michael has conducted his Chartered Accounting practice for over 30 years with with particular specialisation in the property and hospitality industries.
Alex Pascoe
Alex is one of the senior originators for Investec's Property Investment Bank. He packages debt & equity for private clients' direct property dealings, specialising in the NSW market. After being forced to retire from rugby, Alex took up riding to help his body recover. Alex is looking forward to the challenges of Chain Reaction 2010, and Investec's 2nd year as a major supporter.
Shane Rothe
Shane is an Architect and the Managing Principal of ROTHELOWMAN, an international consulting group that provides architecture, interior design and property feasibility services to the property development sector. Shane started riding over seven years ago and has enjoyed the many opportunities riding provides.
Marcus Ryan
Marcus is a property analyst at Goldman Sachs JBWere within the Asset Management business and includes cycling as a favourite pastime. "We are very pleased in becoming a major sponsor in 2010 and all look forward to the cycling challenge and contributing to 2 children's charities that will lead to positive life changing impacts for kids."
Andrew Shearer-Smith
Andrew is a partner of McMahon Clarke Legal and specialises in property funds. McMahon Clarke Legal have sponsored the Orchard team in all three Chain Reaction rides since its inception. Next year's ride will be no exception however in 2010 Andrew will be participating. Andrew is a keen dirt biker, surfer and triathlete. He and his wife (Jo) live in Brisbane with their three children.
Josh Slattery
Josh is Managing Director of Slattery Australia, Property and Construction Cost Consultants. A keen surf boat rower, Josh took up cycling as cross training and this year has taken a year off surf boat training to allow him to spend more time cycling. Josh rides and races with the Kings Men cycling team and is a member of the St Kilda Cycling Club.
Roger Teale
Roger Teale is Regional Business Development Manager for Bovis Lend Lease, one of the world’s leading project management and construction companies, that operates in over 30 countries employing over 8,000 people, working with clients to create high quality, sustainable property assets. Roger is looking forward to rejoining the mighty Chain reaction Team sponsred by ISPT in 2010.
Troy Upfield
Troy is Executive Director and Head of Securities Lending at Goldman Sachs JBWere, a pre-eminent financial services organisation, and is also Vice Chairman of the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre, which was a beneficiary of Chain Reaction 2009.
John Ward
John is Head of Product & Investor/Adviser Services at Orchard Funds Management & has worked in the funds management industry for over 19 years. Chain Reaction 2010 will be John’s 4th Chain Reaction ride. He enjoys the great camaraderie & the physical and mental challenges each year’s ride presents. More importantly John thrives on the opportunity to raise money for childrens charities.
Berrick Wilson
Berrick Wilson is the Managing Partner of KordaMentha Real Estate Advisory and one of the founders of the Chain Reaction Challenge. Berrick is looking forward to participating in his 4th Chain Reaction Challenge and building on the great camaraderie that is developed during this tough week long tour.
