Troy Fidler
Troy Fidler is the Director and Head Coach of Fidler Sports, one of Australia’s premier multi-sport training squads.
As an athlete, Troy has reached the pinnacle of the sport with many outstanding achievements, including 3 times Australian Triathlon Champion as well as representing his country at three World Championships. In 1995, Troy was named the “Australian Triathlete of the Year”. He retired from professional competition in 1999 but still continues to remain active and compete on a social level in numerous events across a variety of sports, with a special interest in Mountain Biking.
As a coach, Troy is responsible for founding one of this country’s most successful multi-sport training squads which has been running for 21 years. Members of this training group compete across many sports ranging from Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon to New York City Marathon, from the Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic to the Rottnest Island open water swim.
2013 will be Troy’s fourth year of involvement with Chain Reaction. He initially participated as a Day Rider in 2010 during the stage over Mt Tambourine and the following year gladly took on the role as coach for the inaugural Queensland Chain Reaction event. Troy has enjoyed being part of the success of the Chain Reaction Queensland events in 2011 and 2012. He looks forward to continuing that involvement by helping each individual rider prepare for the 1000km challenge and to thereby raise funds for the worthwhile childrens’ charities.
Any spare time not riding his bike is spent with his wife Claire and two children, Seth (7) and Coco (4).
